REFLECTIONS

REFLECTIONS is a short dramatic film created entirely by Jad Al Masri. Embracing non-linear storytelling, the sequence explores the tumultuous relationship between self and self-image. On a deeper level, however, it reflects upon the unique nature of the human condition by focusing on how we can often be the obstacles in our paths. More specifically, it reflects upon the gravity of self-awareness; how moving forward often involves reconciling with that which is stored deep within our unconscious.

 

Through the visual dichotomy between two versions of the same self, Jad’s cinematography and directorial style also encourage the viewer to question their perceptions. Accopmanied by a pensive and pulsing soundtrack also created by Jad, this sequence crafts an experience that is sure to leave an impression.
